POND LIFE

POND LIFE

What an amazing day with a hard-working team of local volunteers. The pond on the left-hand side of Mogoador Road, on the way to the Sportsman Pub, has been neglected for many years. 1994, that was the last time a group got together to give it some TLC. A few of the people drove past while we were doing it and said how lovely it was that this had been organized. Nicola a local resident invited the Surrey Wildlife Trust up to assess the project before work commenced. Once we had the advice on what to do to protect the…

How lovely is this? We stopped and spoke to this lovely lady who has lived in the village for years and asked to take a photo of her using the new bench we installed and kindly donated by our Acting Chair Lindsey Von Backstrom. (she agreed ❤) she said thank you for the work that has gone into replacing the bench and clearing the area. Dog walking in Surrey’s countryside

Dog walking in Surrey’s countryside

Welcome to Surrey's countryside: a beautiful, tranquil, and environmentally sensitive place enjoyed by local wildlife and visitors alike. We want all dog walkers to have a happy, healthy, hassle-free visit and so ask that you follow our code of conduct. Keep dogs under control and within sight This is important when approaching other countryside users, as not everyone is confident around dogs. Please keep your dog from approaching other people, including children, horse riders, runners, and cyclists. We advise professional dog walkers to please give way to other countryside users on narrow paths. Always carry a suitable lead for each dog…

Historic Sign Post Mogador Rd NEWS!!

Historic Sign Post Mogador Rd NEWS!!

After looking at the finger post at the top of Mogador Road which is more than 100 years old our co-chair brought it to our attention at the last LKRA AGM. It certainly needed some TLC.  Finger posts have been an integral part of our highway and heritage contributing to the unique character of local areas.  Our finger post has stood the test of time with the name being removed possibly in the 1940’s for its metal and to help the war effort. So, it became my task along with other committee members Sarah Lopez and Co-chair Lindsey Von Backstrom…
